Hi friends,

For those of you who may not know me well yet, I’m Kim Stoltzfus. I’m married to my wonderfully supportive husband, Glen, and we share our lives with three quirky cats, Niko, Romi, and Annemiek. Originally from Lancaster, PA, we moved to Moncks Corner, SC seven years ago just for something different.

What we’ve discovered over the years is that we thrive on changing home base. Most recently, that meant moving out of our house and into an RV full-time! We’re still stationary in SC, living in the middle of a peaceful field surrounded by nature. Glen likes to say it feels like “being on vacation, but still going to work." And honestly, that shift has been one of the best ways we’ve reduced stress and further embraced a healing lifestyle.

So… What is Lifestyle Medicine?

You may have heard me mention “Lifestyle Medicine” over the last few years. So what exactly is it, and how can it help with chronic pain and inflammation?

Lifestyle Medicine is defined by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as:

“a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions including, but not limited to, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.”

In simpler terms, it’s about getting to the root cause of disease and working toward prevention, reversal and healing, not just managing symptoms with meds or procedures. It’s a shift back toward vitality, energy, and living with purpose.

In a culture obsessed with convenience, we’ve often traded our well-being for comfort and the cost is high. We’ve become exhausted, inflamed, and sick. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

The 6 Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine

There are six core pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, which I’ll be unpacking in future newsletters. For Glen and I, discovering these principles has changed everything. We began with just one pillar and gradually integrated the others as we saw how powerfully they work together.

Curious which one we started with? I’ll tell you next time, but here’s a hint: it’s something you do every day.

A Cool Resource to Explore

If you’re curious to learn more, here are two documentaries that opened our eyes and started us on this journey:

They helped us see what’s possible—especially when conventional medicine left us feeling stuck.

Let’s Connect!

I’d love to hear what you’re up to and share more about this new coaching venture. If you’re local, let’s meet for coffee! Not nearby? No problem—schedule a virtual coffee chat with me.

One of the scriptures that continues to guide me on my journey is from Jeremiah 29:11–13(NLT)

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.’”

These words remind me that healing isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. When we seek God with our whole hearts, He is faithful to meet us there. See what your future can look like and let me know if I can accompany you on your journey to hope and healing.
